Benefit for a child attending school for the first time (school benefit)

Benefit applications for a child attending school for the first time are accepted during the first three months of the schoolyear. Applications are submitted in september, october and november. Benefit for a child attending school for the first time (5000 EEK) is paid to a parent, guardian or to the child's carer, provided that according to the Population Register at least one of the parents has lived in Tallinn for at least a year before the child starts attending school and according to the Population Register the child is a citizen of Tallinn, lives on the same address with the benefit applicant and starts to attend a school in Tallinn. The benefit is allocated based on the approved list of students of the school. The benefit is paid in two parts: 50% is paid when the child starts attending school and 50% in June after the first form has been passed, provided that according to the Populaiton Register the benefit applicant and the child have been citizens of Tallinn continously and the child is studying in a school in Tallinn.
