Benefit applications for a child attending school for the first time are accepted during the first three months of the schoolyear. Applications are submitted in september, october and november. Benefit for a child attending school for the first time (5000 EEK) is paid to a parent, guardian or to the child's carer, provided that according to the Population Register at least one of the parents has lived in Tallinn for at least a year before the child starts attending school and according to the Population Register the child is a citizen of Tallinn, lives on the same address with the benefit applicant and starts to attend a school in Tallinn.
