Election of a people’s judge
People’s judge candidates are selected by the City Council, and people’s judges are appointed for the following four years by the committee for the appointment of people’s judges at Harju County Court.
Members of the City Council Office are inviting expressions of interest from residents of the City of Tallinn wishing to run for a people’s judge position at Harju Count Court.
An Estonian citizen aged 25–70 with active legal capacity may be nominated as a people’s judge candidate if this person resides in Estonia and is proficient in Estonia at the C1 level stipulated in the Language Act or at a corresponding level and has the moral character appropriate for serving as a people’s judge. Persons wishing to apply are requested to complete a form (DOC, 31.5 kB). An applicant should transmit their application by e-mail, post or complete on the spot at the City Council Office. Rahvakohtunikukandidaatide valimine toimub 2011. aastal, iga 4 aasta tagant.
Digital signature is required if the form does not bear the signature (e.g. a Word file). If the document has been scanned with the signature (e.g. a pdf-file) then the digital signature is unnecessary.
