Application round for trade fair grants is open.
Target group: Small and medium-sized businesses and sole proprietors of Tallinn, who intend to participate in trade fairs taking place in Estonia, which are aimed at establishment of business contacts;locating new distribution channels;promotion of sales.
Objective: support and stimulate the development of small enterprises in Tallinn through participation in trade fairs.
Limit of grant: EUR 1000 for each applicant in a calendar year. The maximum grant limit is 50% of the actual eligible expenditures. The maximum amount of eligible expenditures for the services and goods sold by one entrepreneur is EUR 900 (net of VAT) per application.
Expenditures related to participating in a trade fair, subject to grant:
participation fee for the fair, provided that the price quotation or invoice was delivered to the applicant by the organiser of the trade fair and the applicant pays the organiser of the fair;
rental fee for the stand, provided that the price quotation or invoice was delivered to the applicant by the organiser of the trade fair and the applicant pays the organiser of the fair;
expenditure for designing and/or building the stand or the stand area;expenditures for renting and configuring the POS terminal;expenditures for designing and printing the information and advertising materials (except business cards).
Special conditions of grant The expenditures are eligible, provided that the expenditures have resulted from the transaction between the applicant and the entrepreneur and, based on the annual report submitted to the Commercial Register, the field of activity of the entrepreneur has been provision of the relevant service.
An applicant can receive a grant for participating in no more than two trade fairs per year. PLEASE NOTE! Eligible expenditures are those that have been incurred between the time the applicant registered for the trade fair and the time when the final report is submitted.
Expenditures incurred as the result of transactions between related parties are not eligible.Grants can only be applied for participating in those trade fairs in Estonia which are included in the list approved by the Tallinn City Enterprise Department (trade fair calendar 2017).
The application must be submitted to the Enterprise Department at least 21 calendar days before the start of the trade fair. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
Requirements for applicants – businesses and self-employed persons who meet the following requirements can apply for trade fair grants:
according to the data from the Commercial Register, the applicant is registered in Tallinn;
the applicant has been in operation for at least one financial year and submitted at least one annual report to the Commercial Register;
based on the latest annual report submitted to the Commercial Register, the average number of full-time employees is 20 or less;
for applicants operating in the processing industry (Estonian Classification of Economic Activities) 100 employees or less;
and the turnover based on the last annual report submitted to the Commercial Register is up to EUR 400,000;
the applicant has paid their state and local taxes and has no other arrears towards the City of Tallinn.
If the aforementioned arrears are staggered, the payments must have been made on schedule.
The applicant must have properly complied with the requirement for submitting tax declarations that are prescribed in the Taxation Act and the tax laws;
no liquidation, reorganisation or bankruptcy proceedings have been initiated against the applicant and no bankruptcy orders issued;at least 51% of the shareholders of the applicant are natural persons;
the following fields of activity in the applicant’s latest annual report submitted to the Commercial Register do not comprise more than 50% of sales revenues:
1) agriculture, forestry and fishing
2) manufacture of beverages, exc. manufacture of non-alcoholic beverages, mineral water and other bottled waters
3) manufacture of tobacco products
4) wholesale and retail trade
5) financial and insurance activities
6) real estate activities
7) legal activities and accounting; activities of head offices, management consultancy; market research and public opinion polls;
8) gambling and betting activities.
To apply for the trade fair grant, the applicant shall submit the application (later also the final report) through the Tallinn self-service environment for Grants to Non-profit Activities. (User instructions for the self-service environment) The additional documents requested on the application form shall be provided together with the application.
Reporting: A report regarding the participation in the trade fair shall be submitted in the self-service environment within 21 calendar days of the fair taking place. The mandatory attachments to the report are:
documents and/or their copies (invoices and payment orders) proving that the eligible expenditures were made and paid for;
photos proving participation in the fair;
samples of the information and advertising materials (if printed matters were prepared for the fair).
