Transport service for disabled persons

Persons, from the age of four, who according tothe Population Register live in Tallinn, have profound or severe mobility impairment and/or multiple impairments and who cannot use the public transport without assistance, due to their disability.

Where to start
- Submit an application to the local social welfare department and add a copy of the Medical Assessment Committee’s decision. In case of need also the decision from the counselling committee of the Education Department.
- To apply for transport to workplace, submit an application to Tallinn City's Board of Disabled People and include a copy of the Medical Assessment Committee’s decision and the notice from the family physician confirming the need for transport. The approval of applications takes place in the Tallinn Social Welfare and Health Care Department that sends the approved orders to the transport provider. The transport arrives according to needs that have been described in the application.Necessary changes in the transport schedule need to be agreed on with the service provider over the phone.
 
Result
Quality of life and possibilities to cope in the society improve through enabling access to general public services.
