Tehnohack from October 30th to November 1st 2015

TehnoHack is a hard- and software hackathon which brings together innovative idea authors, hardware and software engineers and product designers. Hackathon is taking place in Tallinn University of Technology’s (TUT) Mektory center from October 30th to November 1st 2015.

If you have a good idea, but you are lacking knowledge how to implement it, TehnoHack is a right place to find engineers and product designers to bring the idea to reality. Also, it is a good place to find appealing project to work with, if you do not have any idea at current moment.

The goal for participants is to convert an idea to real functional device during weekend’s 48 hours. Around each idea a 4-6 member team is created. Ideas can be submitted on TehnoHack’s webpage (http://www.skeemipesa.ee/tehnohack/en).

TehnoHack is unique because of pre-event mentorship. Organizers of the event select most potential ideas before event and each idea gets mentor, whose competence matches the best way idea’s needs. In cooperation with mentor component list for prototype building is put together and ordered by the beginning of event. It makes possible to assure that maximum amount of ideas can be turned to functional prototypes during the event. Each selected idea will be supported for component purchase in amount of up to 200 €.

Best teams can win valuable prizes on TehnoHack hackathon. The best combination of idea and implementation will win a place in Estonia’s biggest entrepreneurship contest Ajujaht TOP30. From this position it is possible to gain forward to TV-show, which prize fund is 60 000 €! One team has option to visit largest Nordic start-up fair Slush in Helsinki from November 11th to 12th. Two promising teams will be able to develop their idea forward in a largest Nordic hackathon Junction. Junction takes place from November 6th to 8th in Helsinki

We expect TehnoHack 2015 to have 150 to 200 participants. We are making cooperation with several TUT institutes. 20-30 TUT engineers and scientists are involved to event as mentors.

TehnoHack is supported by European Social Fund, Enterprise Estonia, Tallinn City Enterprise Department, The Council of Gambling Tax, TUT Education Technology Center, Estonian Electronics Industries Association and Oomipood.
