Occasional transport services for the disabled

The purpose of these services is to allow persons whose disability prevents them from using a private vehicle or public transportation to use a vehicle in line with their needs for travel that is essential for managing their daily lives. Occasional services mean services where the start and end point and the time of travel as well as the vehicle to be used will be determined in line with the user’s needs.

Occasional services are available to severely or profoundly disabled persons - as certified by the Social Insurance Board - who are at least three years old, whose disability prevents them from using a private vehicle or public transportation and whose place of residence registered with the Population Register is the City of Tallinn, and who:

1) suffer from impaired mobility or vision, or a mental condition; and

2) need individual transport to a health or welfare institution or for the purpose of using public services.

The users of occasional services must register each trip using an electronic travel card. Occasional services are intended for travelling to or from a destination within the administrative territory of the city or elsewhere in Estonia.
