The City Archives provide information about archival materials, deliver photocopies or digitised images as well as extracts of records. The procedure for providing archival information is regulated by the “Procedures for Answering Inquiries” (in estonian) approved by the director of the City Archives.
Applications may be sent by mail or e-mail (link to an application forms (in estonian)) or may be filled out in the City Archives.
The archival and library materials can only be used in the in the Archives’ reading room (research room). Records will not be delivered to the reading room, nor copies made of them if their physical condition is unsatisfactory.
If there is a copy of the document (digital or Xerox), the original of the document shall not be delivered. Archival materials can be photographed or filmed in the reading room only with the permission of the reading room official.
