Archival query related to studies and working
Release of information on someone’s work and study in Tallinn's administrative agencies or institutions (education departments of district administrations, some liquidated trade and service companies in Tallinn) that have been liquidated or reorganised or in the Tallinn City Government and its departments and city institutions before 1944. In most cases, you will receive an answer to your query within 15 working days. You can also apply for an expedited query: in this case, you will receive an answer within two working days if possible. The fee for an expedited query is 15 euros. If you wish for an expedited query, mention it in your enquiry form and the City Archives council will inform you of whether they can provide this service.
The answers for a query are paid: you must pay the state fee and the fee for copies and/or the expedited query fee. Please note! Make sure you don’t make the payment before you have received a notification from the City Archives informing you of the amount to be paid.

When using the online form be careful when filling the "E-mail" field because after the form is submitted (after pushing the button "Send") a copy of the form is sent to the mail address that was typed to that field and later a notice from the City Archives, concerning the application reception and processing, will be sent to that address.
Personal identification
Copies and archival notices that include sensitive personal information or access-restricted information as mentioned in the Notaries Act are encrypted – make sure that your enquiry form includes your personal identification code.
Application reception confirmation
You should receive an automatic notice to your contact address, confirming the acceptance of the form.
Result
The office of the City Archives will contact you to inform you of your answer being ready and the amount to be paid within 15 working days (in case of an expedited query, within two working days). You will receive your archival notice/answer to query/copies by e-mail or by another previously agreed upon method.
