From 21–24 May 2025, Tallinn will host Latitude59, the leading international conference in the region for technology and startups. The City of Tallinn is actively contributing to the event with substantive partnerships, side events, and an exhibition booth at Kultuurikatel.

City of Tallinn Booth at Latitude59 – Opportunities for Businesses

Tallinn will showcase its entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives at a dedicated booth in Kultuurikatel. Specialists from the city’s Business Services, Digital Services, Transport Department, Property Department, as well as teams working on the green transition and international projects will be on hand.

Visitors can explore comprehensive information about the Test in Tallinn and Tallinnovation programs, along with the development of the city's digital twin. All parties interested in piloting smart and sustainable solutions are welcome. Attendees can also discover the innovative TallinnCard app and get tips on exciting places to visit in Tallinn and its surroundings.

Key Highlights at the Tallinn Booth:

  • 22 May at 12:00 – Signing of the cooperation memorandum between Tallinn and Valencia. Deputy Mayor Margot Roose will represent the City of Tallinn. This marks a significant step in strengthening intercity innovation collaboration.

  • 22 May at 15:00–16:00Happy Hour with representatives from Tallinn and Helsinki. A prime opportunity for networking, with a focus on urban testing opportunities.

Side Events with Tallinn as a Key Partner

Several notable side events during Latitude59 week involve Tallinn as a co-organizer, supporter, or partner:

  • 21 May – Hack the Future
    This international hackathon unites forward-thinking teams to develop solutions for the cities of the future. Partners include Tallinn, Valencia, the e-Residency program, and Garage48. The best ideas will receive up to €50,000 in development funding, opportunities to pitch to investors, and the chance for the top three teams to pilot their solutions in Valencia.

  • 21 May – e-Residency Community Evening & Hack the Future Awards Ceremony
    A special edition of the e-Residency Community Night 2025, which includes the announcement of the top Hack the Future hackathon solutions. This inspirational event brings together members of the global e-resident community, innovative entrepreneurs, and thought leaders shaping the future.

  • 21 May – NATO DIANA Demo Day
    The demo event of the NATO DIANA Accelerator in Estonia will showcase top dual-use and defense technology solutions from NATO member states. Startups were selected from over 2,600 applicants. The City of Tallinn is a supporting partner of the NATO DIANA Hub.

  • 22 May – Finnish Networking at Latitude59
    A networking event hosted at the Finnish Embassy celebrating collaboration between Helsinki and Tallinn in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Tallinn in the Official Conference Program

  • 22 May at 11:20–11:45 – Panel Discussion on the Future Stage
    "Innovation for Impact: The Role of Startups in Building Smart, Resilient Cities"
    Deputy Mayor Margot Roose will participate in this discussion alongside public sector representatives from Tallinn and Valencia, as well as the Estonian e-Residency program. The panel will explore how cities can become open innovation platforms, focusing on strategies to attract entrepreneurial talent and promote impactful technological solutions.
    Although the Hack the Future winners will be announced the evening before, their names will also be revealed during this panel, with an opportunity for winners to pitch their solutions on the main stage.

Call to Participate in the Tallinnovation Competition

Tallinn, in cooperation with Tehnopol, invites Latitude59 participants to join the Tallinnovation smart city competition. With a prize pool of €145,000 and the opportunity to test solutions in Heidelberg, Germany, applications are open until 25 May 2025. The city seeks to partner with businesses to co-create breakthrough innovations that support Tallinn's development leap.
