Tallinnovation Competition Winner TrackDeep’s Project: Determining the Location of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Tallinn's Urban Space
The project aims to run tests to find the best plan for installing the infrastructure of sensors to create the U-space area where drones can fly in Tallinn.
One of the winners of the 2023 Tallinnovation competition was TrackDeep.
In the video, TrackDeep's founder and CEO Andy Viikmaa introduces the project, which aims to determine the optimal placement of sensor infrastructure required for establishing Tallinn's U-space area through a series of tests. The drone detection system is a crucial part to ensure that general aviation—airplanes, helicopters, and drones—can share the same airspace.
The City of Tallinn, together with the Tehnopol Science and Business Park, initiated the “Tallinnovation” innovation competition a few years ago to find and implement smart city solutions in Tallinn with the aim to:
- Increase the development and implementation of innovative and low-impact technologies;
- Support the collaboration between the City of Tallinn and technology companies in testing and adopting new software or hardware products;
- Support Tallinn's ambition to become a sustainable and environmentally friendly city with a human-centered living environment and urban space;
- Support the growth ambitions of companies, product development, and entry into foreign markets.
