• It is possible to apply for certificates of vital statistics from the Tallinn Vital Statistics Department for vital statistics events that have taken place in Estonia since 1 July 1926. For this, use our vital statistics certificates service.
• You can request information on vital statistics events that took place in Tallinn and Nõmme before 1 July 1926 from the Tallinn City Archive.
• You can request information on vital statistics events that took place elsewhere in Estonia before 1 July 1926 from the National Archives of Estonia.

Family Records

• Family records in Tallinn and Nõmme have been kept in the Tallinn City Archives since 1 July 1926.
• Family records elsewhere in Estonia have been kept in the National Archives of Estonia since 1 July 1926.

Civil Status Records

• You can request copies of Civil Status Records made in Tallinn between 1 July 1926 and 31 December 2005 from the Tallinn Vital Statistics Department.
