Eligibility to vote

Eligibility to vote in the European Parliament elections:
  • an Estonian citizen who has attained 18 years of age by the election day
    and
  • a citizen of the European Union who is not an Estonian citizen who:
    – has attained 18 years of age by the election day;
    – has a permanent residence in Estonia (your place of residence is entered in the population register);
    – has not lost the right to vote in their country of origin.
A person is not eligible to vote if they are:
  • a person without active legal capacity regarding the eligibility to vote;
  • convicted of a criminal offence by the court and currently imprisoned.
