The city of Tallinn is introducing its smart solutions in the EXPO world exhibition in Dubai

For the first time, the city of Tallinn will participate in the EXPO 2020 world exhibition in the Estonian pavilion, which, postponed due to the pandemic, will open its doors to visitors in October this year.

This year, the exposition of the newly completed Estonian pavilion focuses on digital solutions, smart inventions and environmental protection. These are key themes that will also be introduced in the presentation story of Tallinn as the capital of innovation through successful cooperation projects carried out in cooperation with local success stories and companies.

"Last year, Tallinn was awarded the title of the most intelligent community in the world, being known for its innovative companies and the use of technology-based applications in the public sector. By cooperating with the parties of the innovation ecosystem and supporting our companies in achieving global success, the whole region can only benefit," said Deputy Mayor of Tallinn, Aivar Riisalu.

Tallinn's presentations include introducing various future city projects that have been or are being carried out in cooperation with research institutions and the private sector, for example in the fields of mobility, urban development, education and digitalisation, including self-driving bus tests, solar pavements, smart pedestrian crossings, urban sensors, etc. Digital solutions based on the 3D city model, control panel and open data, as well as initiatives supporting the green revolution will be introduced.

The aim of participating in the World Exhibition is to help Estonian companies and organizations to establish contacts both in the Middle East region and around the world and thereby increase the sales of their products and services. The exhibition will be open in Dubai until the end of March 2022.

Participation in the Estonian EXPO is organized by the EXPO 2020 Foundation Estonia office established at the initiative of entrepreneurs.
