External communication of Tallinn’s districts

Haabersti           

Gladsaxe Municipality, Denmark. The cooperation agreement was signed on 15 August 1993. As part of the agreement, regular exchanges of official delegates as well as culture and youth exchanges take place between Gladsaxe and Haabersti.
Livan, Latvia. Haabersti plans to sign a cooperation agreement with Livan.  For the last 3-4 years, the Haabersti City District Government has taken part in the summer festivals in Livan. Representatives of Livan have also visited Tallinn twice.
 

Kristiine              

Suraxanı District in Baku, Azerbaijan.  The cooperation agreement was signed in 2008.
Zamoskvorechye District in Moscow, Russia.  The cooperation agreement was signed on 19 October 2006. Plans have been made to renew the agreement.  Areas of cooperation include economy, environmental protection, healthcare, education, culture, youth meetings, exchanges of specialists and mutually interesting international projects.
 

Lasnamäe          

Moskovsky District in St. Petersburg, Russia. Areas of cooperation include economy, commerce, science, technology, culture and social work. 
Partyzanski District in Minsk, Belarus.
Vidzeme Suburb in Riga, Latvia.
 

Nõmme              

Espoo, Finland. The cooperation agreement was signed on 4 May 1994. Areas of cooperation include exchanges of officials, social organisations and youth relations through training camps, student exchanges and associations.
Szombathely, Hungary. The cooperation agreement was signed on 15 February 1997. The communication between Szombathely and Nõmme is currently infrequent.
Frutali and Pirenopolis, Brazil The cooperation agreements were signed in February 2013. Areas of cooperation include culture, education, social and community organisations, economy (Estonian and Brasilian business companies), tourism and information exchange. Cooperation partners also mutually partake in each other’s cultural events. The development of cooperation is in early stages.
Destin, USA. The cooperation agreement is currently being negotiated in Destin.        
 

Põhja-Tallinn

Kronshtadtsky District in St. Petersburg, Russia.  The cooperation agreement was signed on 27 May 2012. Areas of cooperation include economy, science, technology, culture and society. The cooperation agreement between Kronshtadtsky District and Põhja-Tallinn has currently been suspended.
Kotka, Finland. The cooperation agreement was signed on 28 March 2003. The agreement focuses on various areas of social work, including problems of young people and children, addiction, children’s institutions, the exchange of trainees working in children’s homes, family counselling centres, etc.
 

City Centre             

Vidzeme Suburb in Riga, Latvia. The cooperation agreement was signed on 30 March 2013.         
Carcassonne, France. The cooperation agreement was signed on 14 February 2013.
 

Pirita    

Kungälv Municipality, Sweden. The cooperation agreement was signed on 26 September 1994. The communication between Kungälv and Pirita is currently infrequent.         
Kauniainen, Finland. The cooperation agreement was signed on 17 September 1998. The communication between Kauniainen and Pirita is currently infrequent.
 

Mustamäe

Mustamäe has not signed any cooperation agreements.
