Lighting Urban Community International

 
Objectives:
Founded in 2002, LUCI includes over 60 cities and 35 associated members including companies, lighting architects, universities, etc. The organisation allows its members to share their experiences and find new solutions for more sustainable, environmentally-friendly urban lighting.

Management:
The network is led by an Executive Committee that consists of nine members and meets twice a year.

Importance to Tallinn:
Representatives of the Tallinn Strategic Management Office are actively participating in LUCI’s activities and events. In 2011, Tallinn hosted the traditional “City Under Microscope” event introducing Tallinn’s achievements in urban lighting to other member cities. In 2017, Tallinn invited LUCI members to take part in the idea competition for designing the lighting solution for Tallinn Old Town walls. As a result, we found an excellent partner with international experience.
