Kopli 93 Makerspace

Kopli 93 Makerspace

Events this month at Kopli93.

Opening hours, usage guidelines and contact info

The Makerspace is located in the courtyard of Kopli 93 community center and is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5 PM to 9 PM. Usage of the Makerspace is free for everyone. There's no need to book time in advance; just come by. The nearest stop is Sepa (tram, bus). If you're driving, you can park on Ketta Street.

Bring your own materials (such as paint, stains, fasteners, etc.) and we expect you to repair your item yourself. We provide the tools and space and can also help you select the right tools and techniques. The only contribution we expect from you, besides cleaning up after yourself, is to dedicate 15 minutes to tidying up the Makerspace. Ask the Makerspace manager how you can help! Donations of tools, wood, fasteners  or other materials are also welcome.

Safety and maintenance

Your most valuable tools are your hands, ears, and eyes. Always wear safety goggles and ear protection when using power tools, use a mask and gloves when working with toxic substances. Safety and first-aid equipment are stored in the cabinet marked with a red cross. Follow the safety stickers on equipment and report any broken tools or hazards to the workshop manager.

Paying attention is another important skill. Note where everything is and return tools to their original place. If you’re unsure about which tool to use or how to use it, ask the Makerspace manager for advice. The manager can assist with more complex tasks, but we encourage users to independently handle their chosen projects. The Makerspace manager can guide you on how to safely use tools and follow all safety guidelines. All tool use is at the user’s own risk.

A clean Makerspace ensures smoother work. The visitor before you left a clean workspace, and now it's your turn to do the same for the next person. Uncleaned tools, dried paint brushes and a dusty floor are not cool.

Makerspace storage room

There is a storage room where you can leave your unfinished projects until your next visit. Projects can remain in storage for up to 6 months, after which they may be passed on to another interested user. With permission from the makerspace manager, you can also take materials from the storage or donate usable furniture pieces or wood you no longer need.
