Reuse

Reuse

20231010_korduskasutus_illustration.png
All clean and intact items, clothes, textiles, etc. are accepted for reuse. Items can be taken to reuse centres , public waste bins in urban areas or reuse rooms at waste treatment plants.

Broken, moisture-stained, musty, mouldy, tarnished and dirty items will not be accepted! They should go to the waste treatment plant.

Items intended for reuse are put back into circulation. They are sold through reuse shops, donated to those in need and various co-operation partners (animal shelters, theatres, schools, defence forces, etc.).

Reuse room in Paljassaare and Pääsküla waste treatment plants

In co-operation with the NGO Re-use Centre, a reuse room has been opened in the waste stations of Paljassaare and Pääsküla where you can leave your neat and intact clothes, shoes, toys, books, music, dishes, cutlery, hobby and sports items, decorative items, home textiles and smaller home appliances. Up to six 100-litre bags of usable clothes are accepted free of charge from one individual per day.

The Pääsküla waste treatment plant has been renovated with the support of the Centre for Environmental Investments, which finances the project “Transformation of waste treatment plants into circular economy centres to promote reuse and create repair workshops”.

In the reuse room, the products are categorised according to the labels on the shelves or in large baskets and you can also get advice from the operator on-site. If you are bringing something to the waste treatment plant or reuse room and see something you need in the reuse room, feel free to take it with you, free of charge.

Reuse room opening times:

  • From 1 November to 31 March, Monday to Friday from 2pm to 7pm and 10am to 3pm on the weekends.
  • From 1 April to 31 October, Monday to Friday from 12pm to 8pm and 10am to 6pm on the weekends.

The delivery of neat and usable items to the reuse room is free of charge, the delivery of all other separately collected waste, including unusable clothes and textiles is according to the price list. More detailed information can be found on the Tallinna Jäätmekeskus website.
