Tallinn Libraries
The Tallinn Libraries is Tallinn’s public library that works to ensure the citizens have free and unlimited access to information, knowledge and culture and supports lifelong studying and self-improvement.
The main tasks of the library are to collect, maintain and make available prints, audiovisual and other documents and public databases necessary for the reader.
The libraries, which started as the Tallinn Free of Cost Public Library and Reading Room, then the Maxim Gorky Library and the Anton Hanssen Tammsaare Library, has been operating under the name Tallinn Central Library since 1994.
The Tallinn Libraries contains the following departments:
- The Central Building (Estonia pst 8)
- The Department of Literature in Foreign Languages
- Branch Libraries
- Mobile Library
- Library Bicycle
- E-libraries
