The history

  • In the year 1972 the city authorites established the First Tallinn Logopedic School, with a view of rendering a professional assistance to children having speech difficulties.

    September 1972 saw first pupils entering the school.  

    At the time , there were 187 students and 20 teachers.

    The School was located in the small building in Kadriorg park.

    In 1990 the school was renamed as Tallinn 59  Basic School.

    Heino Mihhelson was the first Principal.

  • For 26 years he was working in the school before he retired in 1998.

    He loved his work passionatly.

    Alla Zolotova has been the current Principal of the school since 1998.

  • Due to growing number of children the school moved in a new building in 2004.

    Currently, the school is located in Lasnamäe district, at 46 Ümera street.

  • In 2007 Lasnamäe Basic School ( LBS) was united with Tallinn 63 Basic School.

    Nowadays the school insures favourable conditions for students having different speech difficulties and problems in learning.

    The memoriable event of 35 Year Jubilee was celebrated in 2007.

    2008 saw starting cooperation with Mechanikal Vocational School aimed at vocational quidiance of Forms 7 – 9.

  • 2009 saw starting extended school day activites.

    The year of 2012 saw starting creating activites “ Vocational Choice.”

    In the year 2017 the scool celebrated 45 – year jubilee.
