1966 instances of large waste collection during August campaign

Tallinn Waste Centre conducted a free large waste collection campaign from August 12 to August 18, during which residents of Tallinn brought a total of 1,883 cubic meters of bulk waste to the waste stations.

Deputy Mayor Margot Roose noted that such campaigns encourage residents to sort waste and contribute to a cleaner environment. "It is gratifying to see the growing popularity of waste sorting campaigns among Tallinn residents. The sustainable disposal of bulk waste reflects an increasing awareness of environmental stewardship," said Roose, adding that the spring campaign was also successful.

During the August campaign, bulk waste was collected 1,966 times, with a total of 6,165 visits to the waste stations during the period. The busiest days were on the weekend, with 414 visits on Saturday and 394 on Sunday, compared to an average of 230 visits on weekdays.

During the campaign, Tallinn residents are able to dispose of large waste free of charge. Under the campaign conditions, each resident can bring up to 3 cubic meters of large waste to the waste stations at no cost. The campaign does not extend to legal entities, including apartment associations.
