The Advent candle will be lit on the Town Hall Christmas tree on Sunday
Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart and minister Jaan Tammsalu will light the first Advent candle on Sunday, 27 November at 4pm on the Christmas tree in Town Hall Square.
The traditional Advent candle-lighting ceremony will feature singing by the choirs of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Estonia's Tallinn congregations - the Chamber Choir of the Church of the Holy Spirit, the Laudate Dominum choir of the Church of St. Thomas Cathedral, and singers from the male choir of St. John's Church and the male ensemble of the Harku House of Prayer, the Concert Choir of St. Charles Church, the chamber choir Activa of St. John's Church and the chamber choir of St. Peter's Tallinn Chamber Choir conducted by Veljo Reier, Pärtel Toompere and Eve Padar. The ceremony will be led by Priit Volmer.This year's central Christmas tree was brought from the village of Mustjõe in the municipality of Anija and set up in the Town Hall Square on 17 November. Today at 6pm , the Christmas market will be open and the Christmas tree lights will be lit.
