Construction work to interrupt tram service to Kopli this week
Water and sewer line construction at the intersection of Tööstuse, Kopli, and Sitsi streets will interrupt tram line No. 1 from August 12 to August 18. During this period, replacement bus service No. 52 will operate. Bus lines No. 3, 26, 26A, and 73 will also be rerouted from August 12 to August 31.
Tram line 1 will be closed from August 12 until the end of the day on August 18 between Kopli and Linnahall. During this period, temporary bus line No. 52 will run between Kopli and Mere puiestee, departing approximately every 10 minutes. Additionally, tram service on lines No. 2 and 5 will be suspended until August 18. Normal tram service will resume on August 19 for lines No. 1 (Kopli-Kadriorg), 2 (Kopli-Suur-Paala), and 5 (Kopli-Vana-Lõuna).Bus lines 3, 26, 26A, and 73 will be rerouted from August 12 to August 31. During this time, stops at Niidi, Sitsi, Tööstuse, and Karjamaa will be skipped in both directions for bus line No. 3. For bus lines No. 26 and 26A, stops at Nisu, Ehte, Niidi, and Sitsi will be skipped in both directions. For bus line 73, stops at Tööstuse and Karjamaa will be skipped in both directions.
The contractor is required to ensure safe passage for pedestrians and cyclists throughout the construction period. Traffic controllers will be used during peak hours to facilitate smooth left turns on Sõle Street detour.
Due to significant traffic changes and public transport rerouting, we advise allowing extra travel time to reach your destination, as walking distances to stops may increase.
Schedules, routes, and stop information can be found on the website transport.tallinn.ee. Information about changes will also be posted at the affected stops.
The work is being carried out by AS Tallinna Vesi and AS Utilitas Tallinn, with AS KE Infra as the contractor. Detailed traffic schemes can be found on the Tallinn operational information website (phases 4 and 5).
