Expansion planned for Sõle Sports Centre

Expansion planned for Sõle Sports Centre

Tallinn is planning an extension for the Sõle Sports Centre to improve the facility's amenities and ensure the safety of its users. The addition will provide an extra 1,400 square meters of space.

Deputy Mayor Tiit Terik emphasized the need for additional facilities to enhance the center's functionality. "The current space limits the organization of larger sports and cultural events and hinders the ongoing training sessions and competitions due to insufficient changing rooms and restrooms," said Terik.

The extension will include additional amenities, a meeting hall, and spaces for coaches. It will make visitor circulation more logical and enable basic entry control to ensure athlete safety. The expansion also plans for a cafe, addressing a current gap during events.

Esplan OÜ offered the best proposal for the design work, and Kristiine Sport, the municipal agency managing the Sõle Sports Centre, will sign a contract with them. The design work, costing approximately €120,000 including VAT, is expected to be completed by October this year.
