Help test drone traffic safety system in Tallinn on September 20

The City of Tallinn, in partnership with TrackDeep, will conduct a test of a drone detection sensor and radar system on Friday, September 20 at 12 pm near the Kultuurikatel. Residents are invited to bring their drones for flight to test the system’s capacity.

TrackDeep was one of the winners of the Tallinnovation competition for its innovative solution aimed at enhancing the safety and efficiency of drone traffic.

The company applied for the innovation award last year, seeking to test its sensor system in Tallinn's urban space to determine the location and movement vectors of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The goal of these tests is to identify the best placement of sensors for the infrastructure needed to establish Tallinn’s U-space area.

The test near Kultuurikatel is an important step toward improving drone traffic management and safety, providing valuable data on system performance and capacity.

The City of Tallinn invites all drone owners to participate in the test, helping assess the system's ability to detect and track multiple drones flying simultaneously.

Participants must first obtain permission from Estonian Air Navigation Services (Lennuliiklusteeninduse AS), available here.
