Kursi Street and Põhja pst. intersections to be closed to traffic starting from Monday

Kursi Street and Põhja pst. intersections will be closed to traffic from 24 July to 30 September due to construction works on the Vanasadama tramway. The locations of the bus stops for bus lines 3, 66 and 73 will be relocated for the duration of the construction.

As a part of the construction works on the Vanasadama tramway, the city is rearranging the underground communications network in the areas around the intersections of Kursi Street and Põhja pst. Traffic will be redirected while the streets are closed and it is recommended to avoid driving in the city centre.

Due to the closing of the intersections, some bus stops will be moved. For bus line 3, the Linnahall stop in the Randla direction will be replaced by a temporary stop located after the Kalasadama Street intersection in front of building nr 23. For bus line 66, the Linnahall stop in the Randla direction will be located after the Kalasadama Street intersection in front of building nr 23. For bus 73, in the Kopli direction, the stop will be located before the Kalasadama Street intersection.

The result of the Vanasadama tram line construction work will be a nearly 2.5-km-long section of new tram line that will start at the Kivisilla and Gonsiori intersection and end on Põhja pst. The entirety of the urban space surrounding the new tram line route will get a new look with the construction works. New green areas will be established and intersections will be made safer and more modern for everybody.

On the Vanasadam tramway website tallinn.ee/vanasadamatramm, public transport users can get a detailed overview of bus rerouting and car users can find info on traffic management with rerouting schemes.
