October 29, 2024: Estonia’s largest startup event makes its Asian debut in Singapore

October 29, 2024: Estonia’s largest startup event makes its Asian debut in Singapore

Latitude59, Estonia's flagship startup event, is going global with its first satellite event in Singapore on Oct 29. Don't miss the opportunity to network and learn about two incredible ecosystems.

Latitude59, the largest startup and tech event in the Baltics, is expanding its reach to Asia. The organisation has announced its first satellite event in Singapore, scheduled for October 29, 2024, as an exclusive side event of the SWITCH conference.

Latitude59 has already had a booming year, with its main event in Tallinn attracting a record-breaking 4,000 participants from over 60 countries in May. Now, it’s time to capture an even bigger opportunity. “I am happy and grateful that we have the opportunity to connect the Estonian and Singapore startup ecosystems and introduce them globally. In Singapore, we see ourselves acting as a bridge between Estonia’s highly digitised and successful startup environment and Singapore’s rapidly growing tech and innovation sectors,” said Liisi Org, CEO of Latitude59.

The choice of Singapore for Latitude59’s Asian debut is strategic. Singapore’s startup ecosystem is one of the leading in Asia, and there’s strong interest among Estonian entrepreneurs and founders in Singapore’s success story and potential collaborations. The expansion aligns with Estonia’s ambitious goal of 500 DeepTech companies operating by 2030. Singapore, already home to 1,200 DeepTech startups, provides an excellent learning opportunity and potential for cross-border cooperation.

Global growth

Latitude59’s expansion to Singapore is part of a broader international growth strategy. In 2023, the organization made history by holding its first satellite event in Nairobi, Kenya. Building on that success, Latitude59 is set to return to Africa, with the Latitude59 Kenya Edition expected to draw over 2,000 participants on November 28, 2024.

The Singapore event, titled “Latitude59 Global Mixer: Estonian Tech Meets Singapore,” is a collaborative effort involving the Estonian Embassy in Singapore, Enterprise Estonia, the SWITCH conference, and Latitude59. It is partly funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU.
