Tallinn continues to offer free legal advice in all city districts

This year the City of Tallinn offers free legal advice to residents on ten consultation days, scheduled in each city district. The first consultation day will take place this Friday, 17 March from 9 am to 6 pm at the Nõmme District Government.

Tallinn City Secretary Priit Lello said that the city has offered free legal advice to residents in this way for years and it has been proven to be successful.  “Someone’s rights and interests should not remain unprotected for economic reasons alone, as not everyone can always afford to hire a lawyer or advocate,” said Lello. “All residents who are in need of legal advice are invited to take part in the free consultation days”, added the City Secretary.

The free consultation days offer legal advice on debt law, family law, property law, inheritance law, labor law, enforcement, bankruptcy and housing law. It will also provide information on state-subsidized legal aid at preferential rates and on further advice available.

In order to ensure the smooth organization and delivery of the counseling service, pre-registration is possible by calling 688 0400, but pre-registration is not compulsory and clients will also be served in a live queue. Legal advice is given in Estonian, Russian and English.

Legal advice is generally available from 9 am to 6 pm on consultation days, except in Haabersti and Lasnamäe (where the times are indicated on the day of the consultation).
