Tallinn to initiate night bus pilot project in May
Tallinn will initiate a four-month-long night bus pilot project lasting from 19 May to 17 September. During this period, four routes will be active at night from Friday to Sunday.
“We will initiate the night bus pilot project and activate four bus routes that will begin their journeys by circling Old Town,” said Vladimir Svet, the deputy mayor responsible for transportation. “The buses will stop at most of the city’s hubs and will take people to Mustamäe, Õismäe, Lasnamäe, Põhja-Tallinn and also back to the city centre.”
The night bus routes’ starting position will be at Tallinn Baltic Station and they will be active from Friday to Sunday, starting their journeys at 30 minute intervals from 12:30am to 5am. Bus route no. 91 will head towards Mustamäe, no. 92 towards Väike-Õismäe, no. 93 towards Pelguranna and no. 94 towards Priisle.
After circling Old Town, bus no. 91 will continue along the route of trolley no. 3, bus no. 92 will continue along the route of bus no. 42, bus no. 93 will continue along the route of bus no. 40 and bus no. 94 will continue along the route of bus no. 68. The rides are free of charge for Tallinn residents. For other passengers normal ticket rates apply.
