Tallinn Marathon causes temporary changes to traffic

Next weekend, on September 10 and 11, the Tallinn Marathon will bring more than ten thousand runners from more than forty countries to Tallinn, causing several temporary changes to traffic and public transport in the city.

Traffic will be closed or disrupted on and around the race route, including on Kopli, Tööstuse, Kalaranna and Ristiku streets, Toompuiestee, Paldiski maantee, Kolde puiesteel and Vabaõhumuuseumi tee, so if you find yourself in the area of the race route, please take time and be patient or choose an alternative route to reach your destination.

Drivers should follow the temporary traffic signs and follow the signs and advice of the traffic regulators. Residents, road users and pedestrians in the area are advised to consult traffic information and traffic plans in advance. If possible, they are asked to plan their activities for the non-race period and to pay much attention on marathon days.

Paldiski Road (Toompuiestee – Ristiku Street) will be closed to traffic from 8:55 am to 9:05 am at the time of the start;
Ristiku Street (Paldiski Road – Kolde Avenue) will be closed to traffic from 8:55 am to 9:20 am;
Kolde Avenue (Ristiku Street – Sõle Street) will be closed to traffic from 8:55 am to 12:15 pm;
Ristiku Street (Kolde Avenue – Kopli Street) will be closed to traffic from 9:40 am to 12:25 pm;

The traffic direction of Rannamäe Road (Suurtüki Street – Toompuiestee Street) and Toompuiestee (Rannamäe Road – Falgi Road) leading to Mere Avenue will be closed to traffic from 9:45 am to 1:30 pm;
In the direction of Põhja Avenue – Suurtüki Street – Rannamäe Road – Toompuiestee, you can exit from Kalamaja with the help of a traffic regulator.

During the event, traffic will be managed by licensed regulators. The run will be supervised by traffic regulators, security staff and track officials. Residents, emergency vehicles and the transport of local authorities will be let through according to the situation assessed and the decisions and signals made by the regulators.

On Saturday 10 September, tram lines 1 and 2 will be suspended from 9.30 to 13.00 and from 17.00 to 19.15 and on Sunday 11 September from 9.00 to 16.00. There will also be changes to the bus and trolleybus routes that run along the running track. The end of the county's bus routes has been temporarily moved to the Linnahall.
