Tallinn rewards athlete Johannes Erm and his coach

The Tallinn City Government has allocated €2,000 from the reserve fund to the Tallinn Culture & Sports Department to support and acknowledge the achievements of Johannes Erm and his coach, Holger Peel, at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

Deputy Mayor Tiit Terik noted the city's commitment to recognizing athletes from Tallinn who have excelled in international competitions. "Every medal won is significant for both Estonia and Tallinn, which will carry the title of European Capital of Sport next year. I believe internationally successful athletes serve as role models for our young sports enthusiasts, encouraging them to strive towards their dreams. I extend my gratitude to Johannes Erm and his coach Holger Peel for their outstanding performance at the championships."

Johannes Erm won a bronze medal in the heptathlon at the World Championships held in Glasgow on March 3. Johannes Erm will be awarded €1,400, and his coach Holger Peel will receive a €600 bonus.

Tallinn acknowledges the high sporting achievements of athletes from Tallinn and their coaches at the Olympics, World Championships, European Championships, and the European Games. More information about the distribution of support (in Estonian language) can be found here.
