Flu cases have been increasingly common this season, and in some instances, the illness can have severe consequences. Tallinn invites everyone to protect their health. On January 17, several vaccination points across the city will be open for flu vaccinations.

During the previous flu season (2023/2024), 15,655 flu cases were officially diagnosed in Estonia. However, with mild cases often undiagnosed, the estimated number of flu infections reached up to 35,000 people. Age remains a significant factor in severe flu cases. Those most at risk include individuals aged 60 and older, as well as children under 5.

Vaccination is particularly important for at-risk groups, including children up to 7 years old, pregnant women, individuals over 60, and minors with health conditions that increase their risk of complications. Vaccination is free for these groups. For others, the vaccine costs up to €30, depending on the vaccination provider's pricing.

We encourage everyone to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones, experience milder symptoms in case of illness, and avoid complications associated with the flu.
