Traffic regulators assist at several intersections in central Tallinn

A week after restarting the Old City Harbour tramway construction works, the complex traffic conditions caused by changes in traffic management are gradually stabilizing. However, during peak hours, traffic regulators continue to assist at several intersections.

Today, traffic regulators are stationed during the morning and evening rush hours at the intersection of Reidi tee, Jõe Street, and Ahtri Street, and during off-peak hours at Kai Street and Sadama Street, to help direct traffic heading to the harbour. In the evening rush hour, regulators also assist with traffic direction at the Viru roundabout and the intersection of Toompuiestee and Tehnika Street.

The decision to continue having regulators at intersections in the following days will be made based on the traffic situation and as needed.

Suggested detour schemes during the construction period can be found on the Old City Harbour tramway construction project website.

The tram service on the new route is planned to start this fall, but the final completion of the project is expected in early 2025. The project is funded by the European Union's NextGenerationEU recovery fund.
