Tram line 2 now runs through the Old City Harbour
As of today, December 1, tram line 2 begins operating through Vanasadam (Old City Harbour). The tram currently runs on the route Kopli–Vanasadam–Suur-Paala but will extend to the airport once the Ülemiste Rail Baltic terminal is completed.
With the opening of the tram line through the harbour area, some tram stop names will change. The current Linnahall stop, located between Rannamäe tee and Suur Rannavärava Street, will now be called Suur Rannavärava. A new stop on Rumbi Street near the Linnahall will adopt the Linnahall name.
In addition, several changes to public transport take effect from December 1:
- Bus line 2: The route is shortened due to the opening of the Old City Harbour tram, with its final stop now at Balti jaam.
- Bus line 12: A new stop, Kiviku, is added.
- Bus line 62: The route is extended to the Rehelepa residential area, adding stops at Veerme, Rehelepa, and Mäeküla. The bus will now pass Mäeküla, Karjatse, Rehelepa, and Hiireviu Streets, turning back at Tähetorni Street.
- Bus lines 4 and 25: Timetables are adjusted to improve connections and better align with school schedules.
- Bus lines 31, 33, and 48: Timetables are updated to ensure better adherence to schedules.
