Vanasadama tramline construction temporarily halts tram lines 2 and 4

The construction of the new tram line in Tallinn’s City Centre is stopping the operation of tram lines 2 and 4 from 17 April to 2 July.

The opening of the temporary tram line 6 Kopli – Tondi, bus line 52 Ülemiste Station – Hobujaama and changes in the bus lines 15 and 58 will partially replace the tram lines during the construction.

Tram line 6 Kopli – Tondi:
• the trams will service all stops on the tram line

Bus line 52 Ülemiste Station – Hobujaama:
Towards Ülemiste Station, the line will stop at Hobujaama, Pronksi, a temporary stop on F. R. Kreutzwaldi tänav by buildings 10 and 22, Keskturg, the temporary stop on Lubja tänav, Majaka, Sikupilli, Majaka põik and final stop at Pae
Towards Hobujaama, the line will stop at Ülemiste jaam, Majaka põik, Sikupilli, Majaka, Bussijaama, Keskturg, a temporary stop on F. R. Kreutzwaldi tänav by building 25 the Raua green area, Pronksi and the final stop at Hobujaama

Bus line 15 Estonia – Sõjamäe:
Towards Estonia, there is an additional bus stop at the airport (Lennujaam)
Towards Sõjamäe, the line starts at Estonia (on Teatri väljak), a temporary stop on Keevise tänav (by building 10) and at the airport bus stop (Lennujaam)

Bus line 58 Priisle – Sossimägi:
Towards Sossimägi, there will be stops at Majaka põik, Sikupilli and the final stop is at Sossimägi
Towards Priisle, the line will start at Sossimägi, a temporary stop on Lubja tänav (in front of 83 Tartu mnt.), Sikupilli and Majaka põik

On the Vanasadam tramway website tallinn.ee/vanasadamatramm, public transport users can get a detailed overview of the bus rerouting and car users can find info on traffic management with rerouting schemes.

The result of the Vanasadam tram line construction work in the summer of 2024 will be a nearly 2.5 km section of a new tram line that starts at the crossing of Kivisilla and Gonsiori Street and ends on Põhja pst. The installation of the tram rails will be followed by installing pavement on the road and sidewalks, traffic control equipment, bus shelters and other urban fixtures and greenery along the tram line route by the beginning of 2025.
