Up to €100,000 in support awaits smart city solutions at the innovation contest

At the MELT Innovation Forum, the latest Tallinnovation contest was announced. This innovation competition, organized in collaboration between the City of Tallinn and the science and business park Tehnopol, aims to discover smart city solutions that make the city’s services and environment more convenient for businesses, residents, and visitors alike. In its fifth year, the contest has already invested a total of €400,000 in smart solutions for companies.

Tallinn to install eight speed awareness monitors

The Tallinn Transport Department is installing eight speed awareness displays across the city to remind drivers of the current speed limits. These emotion cameras display vehicle speeds and provide feedback to drivers, showing whether they are complying with speed restrictions.

Tram service to Kopli suspended first weekend in May

From the evening of Friday, May 3, at 20.00 until the end of Sunday, May 5, tram service between Kopli and the city centre will be temporarily suspended. During this period, tram lines 1, 2, and 5 will be replaced by shuttle bus line 52 on the segment between Kopli and Mere puiestee. This suspension is due to construction work at the temporary Linnahall stop and the tram turnaround loop at the Skoone Bastion stadium.

Tallinn initiates construction of a new school in Põhja-Tallinn

Today, on April 15, representatives from the City of Tallinn and the architectural firm Sammas Arhitektuuribüroo OÜ unveiled the project for a new school building and its construction progress at Karjamaa Street 18, Põhja-Tallinn. In response to the growing demand for school places due to new developments in the area, the city plans to renovate a building formerly used as a school until 2021 and open a new primary school with 864 student places.
