Tallinn wins ITB Earth Award 2025 for zero-waste festival initiative

Tallinn’s story of a zero-waste Song and Dance Celebration has won the ITB Earth Award 2025 at the Green Destinations Top 100 Story Awards competition, one of the world’s largest tourism fairs held in Berlin. The award highlights Tallinn’s innovation and commitment to sustainability as a tourism destination.

Tokyo urban planners explore Tallinn’s green and digital projects

On October 9-10, a delegation of urban planners from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government visited Tallinn to explore the city's innovative development projects. Tokyo has made it a priority to increase the amount of green spaces and green corridors in its urban planning, and projects like Tallinn's Pollinator Highway and Digital Twin (Digikaksik) attracted particular interest.

Kõlvart: We wish to make sustainable governance the guiding principle in Tallinn

On Friday 20 January, Tallinn will host the inaugural conference of the European Green Capital Year for Sustainable Cities "Fantastic Creatures: Making European Cities Safe, Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable". The opening speeches will be delivered by Virginijus Sinkevičius, European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries and Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart.
