Tallinn supports various music events with over €154,000 in grants

As a UNESCO City of Music, Tallinn pays special attention to music events that that add vibrancy to the city's cultural lineup. For the first round of music project grants in 2024, the city will allocate a total of €154,070 to support 32 initiatives. A record number of 90 projects were submitted for this funding round.

Music Meets Film program at PÖFF is supported by Tallinn

From November 14 to 17, the 11th edition of the Music Meets Film (MMF) program, aimed at professional film composers and filmmakers, will take place as part of the PÖFF film festival, with Emmy award-winning composer John Altman as one of the key speakers.

City of Tallinn awarded the 2022 Choir Music Supporter of the Year Award

On Sunday, 5 February, the Estonian Choral Association announced the winners of the annual awards for choral and wind music at the Estonia Concert Hall. The Supporter of the Year 2022 award was presented to the City of Tallinn as last year, as the city provided substantial support for organizing the 1st Tallinn Youth Choirs Festival, supporting the activities of the Finnish Choral Association and other choir concert projects.

Over 4200 people attended Birgitta Festival at Tallinn Pirita Convent

After a two-year break, last week saw the Birgitta Festival, one of Tallinn’s signature music festivals, organised by the Tallinn Philharmonic. This year's spectacular music event, which took place in the ruins of Pirita Convent from 6 to 14 August, focused on the creation of the Finnish-Estonian musical bridge and attracted 4,244 music lovers to the unique concert venue.
