Archives of the heritage protection department
In the archives of the Urban Planning Department’s Heritage Conservation Department, you can access heritage protection materials and collections including:
- special conditions for heritage conservation
- restoration action plans, projects and reports
- conservation files and letters
- archaeological studies
- historical certificates, interior and exterior finish survey reports, paint guides
- inventory reports (drawings, architectural details)
- books, photographs and a film collection
Historical building documents (1869-1960) held by Tallinn City Archives can be seen in the Saaga online environment.
Building documents can also be found in the archives of the Urban Planning Department.
Archiving materials
Physical or digital documents related to old monuments (plans, drawings, restoration reports, projects or images of monuments) can be handed over to the archives.
The archive of the Heritage Conservation Department at Raekoja plats 12 is open to visitors on Mondays from 2pm to 5pm and Thursdays from 9am to 12pm.

Payment
Access to digital materials is free of charge. There is a service fee for made-to-order digitised materials.
Making copies of archival materials by personal means is allowed. Paper and digital copies can be ordered on the basis of a price list. The price for the Heritage Conservation Department’s archive services is THE SAME as for the Urban Planning Department’s archive.
Result
Issuance of the permit or denial will be decided within two weeks.
