Creating audio material for people with visual impairments
Adapting information and study materials into a suitable form for people with visual impairment. Information, literature and non-formal educational materials in ordinary text that have not been adapted to Braille or audio will be scanned or recorded for sound carriers. Volunteers will read the materials for sound carriers and the audio files will be cleaned.
The completed book will be delivered to the client on a flash drive, via e-mail or another agreed upon method.
- All the adapted materials have been gathered together and are always accessible to people with visual impairment on the website https://raamat.ppy.ee.
- Audio books can also be accessed at the Estonian Library for the Blind’s online library: https://www.veebiraamatukogu.ee/.
In order to access the materials, people with visual impairments can create an account by contacting the North Estonian Blind Association.
Where to start
Contact the North Estonian Blind Association and let us know what audio material you would like to have created. The desired material must be brought to us in paper form (a book or other material). The service provider will turn the material into an audio file or digitise it.
