Disabled child’s benefit
This is a supplementary allowance for disabled children in Tallinn which is paid once a year during the child’s birth month. The application need only be submitted once and the benefit will be paid annually thereafter, provided that all of the requirements are still being met. The disabled child’s benefit is 150 euros.
You are entitled to the disabled child’s benefit if:
- the child’s place of residence is in Tallinn
- the child is up to 16 years old
- the child has been diagnosed with a disability
- the place of residence of at least one of the child’s parents has continually been Tallinn since at least 1 January of the calendar year before the year in which the application is submitted
- the parent living at the same address as the child has submitted the application
We recommend that the application be submitted no later than on the 15th of the child’s birth month. This will ensure that the benefit is paid in the child’s birth month during the year in which the application is submitted. If the application is submitted after the 15th of the birth month, the benefit will be paid within 30 days of the submission of the application.
If the application is submitted by a guardian rather than a parent, the requirements for the place of residence of the parent according to the population register do not apply.
