Disabled child’s carer’s benefit
The carer’s benefit is paid to a person who takes care of a disabled child aged 1,5-18 and who is unable to work due to this.
The benefit is available to a disabled child’s carer (parent, parent’s spouse, guardian or carer on the basis of a family care contract) whose place of residence (as well as that of the child) is in Tallinn according to the population register.
The caregiver's allowance is not paid to an applicant who receives shared parental benefit for the care of a child under the age of three or whose dependent's care needs can be met through other social, educational, and/or medical services.
The carer’s benefit is paid as follows:
- 50 euros per month for a carer of a severely disabled child aged 1,5-18
- 100 euros per month for a carer of a profoundly disabled child aged 1,5-18
The benefit is granted for a limited period until the expiry of the disability granted to the child or until the expiry of the established guardianship or family care contract.
