Disabled child’s carer’s benefit

The carer’s benefit is paid to a person who takes care of a disabled child aged 3-18 and who is unable to work due to this.

The benefit is available to a disabled child’s carer (parent, parent’s spouse, guardian or carer on the basis of a family care contract) whose place of residence (as well as that of the child) is in Tallinn according to the population register.

The carer’s benefit is paid as follows:

  • 30 euros per month for a carer of a moderately disabled child aged 3-16
  • 50 euros per month for a carer of a severely disabled child aged 3-16
  • 100 euros per month for a carer of a profoundly disabled child aged 3-16
  • 50 euros per month for a carer of a severely disabled child aged at least 16
  • 100 euros per month for a carer of a profoundly disabled child aged at least 16

The benefit is granted for a limited period until the expiry of the disability granted to the child or until the expiry of the established guardianship or family care contract.
