The objective of the grant is to promote high-quality internships in knowledge-intensive disciplines in partnership between educational institutions and businesses, and to motivate businesses to use experienced staff to supervise interns.
The internship instructor grant is considered de minimis aid and is awarded in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1407/2013 and § 33 of the Competition Act. Applying
Applications are submitted via the self-service environment of the Tallinn Project and Operating Support Information System (TTR).
PLEASE NOTE: After logging in to the self-service environment with your ID card, please select "Tegevustoetused" Operating Support (not "Projektitoetused" Project Support) from the upper menu bar.
Only companies whose registered address in the Estonian Commercial Register is in Tallinn and who meet the following essential conditions are eligible for the grant:
o the applicant has been operating for at least one financial year and submitted at least one annual report
o the number of full-time employees is at least one, based on the last annual report
o the applicant does not have any tax arrears, incl. local tax arrears
Grants are awarded for the supervision of interns studying in the following fields of study established under the Estonian Higher Education Standard and the Vocational Education Standard:
o science, mathematics and statistics (all fields of study and curricula)
o information and communication technologies (all fields of study and curricula)
o engineering, manufacturing and construction (all fields of study and curricula)
o humanities and arts (arts fields of study only)
o services (only fields of study and curricula of cooks/ only fields of study and curricula on transportation services in higher education)

Grants are given to the internship supervisor for the payment of additional work related to the supervision of the intern during their internship of €5 per one hour of supervision, incl. all taxes and payments to be paid or deducted from salaries.
The volume and grant amount for the internship is calculated based on the number of internship hours agreed in the internship agreement.
The maximum grant per applicant per calendar year is EUR 4000.
The grant is awarded to cover 100% of the eligible costs.
The application must be accompanied by the following mandatory supporting documents:
o Internship agreement or other equivalent document concluded between the educational institution and the applicant (for example: written confirmation letter from the educational institution), which includes at least the following information: information on the internship, information on the supervisor and the intern involved in the internship, the start and end dates of the internship period, the number of instruction hours in astronomical hours
o Internship plan
o Documents proving the competence of the internship supervisor (CV and, if possible, diplomas, licenses, etc.)
PLEASE NOTE: The internship supervisor must have at least 3 years of professional experience or be a specialist with the appropriate qualifications who has a full-time employment contract with the applicant.
PLEASE NOTE: The application must be submitted at least one day before the start of the internship in the company. Applications submitted later will be rejected.
The time of the internship in the company must be within the agreed-upon internship period between the educational institution and the applicant in the internship agreement.
Result
Processing of applications
During the first phase of the processing of applications, the applications are assessed for conformity (eligibility of expenses and compliance with the conditions set out for the application and applicant) and possible shortcomings are identified (e.g. if the applicant does not comply with the procedure, expenses are not eligible or the applicant has tax arrears). If the applicant fails to remedy any shortcomings or does not submit the requested additional information on time, a decision declaring the non-conformity of the application is adopted.
The conformity or non-conformity of an application is decided within 30 days of receipt of the application. The decision is sent to the applicant by e-mail via the self-service environment of TTR.
Disbursement of the grant
Payment of the grant is based on a statement of expenditure submitted within 60 days after the internship, which is submitted through the self-service environment of the Tallinn Project and Operating Support Information System (TTR).
The statement of expenditure must be accompanied by the following mandatory supporting documents:
o documents proving the payment of eligible expenses. Eligible expenses must be proven by the salary statement of the instructor, which includes information on the calculation of the full-time pay and the additional remuneration for internship supervision, and a payment order containing information on the transfer of the remuneration indicated in the salary statement and the additional compensation paid for the supervision of the internship to the internship supervisor
o a summary of the internship (internship report, a copy of the internship diary submitted to the educational institution or a summary submitted in another form) that includes information on the time, circumstances, results and volume of the internship (supervised lessons).
Following the submission of a compliant statement of expenditure, the grant will be credited to the company's bank account within 21 days.
