Parent and child shelter
The parent and child shelter is meant for parents above all for mothers and children who have experienced physical, mental, or sexual violence or who need temporary housing and help with organising their everyday life due to some other extraordinary circumstance.
The service includes:
- temporary housing
- social counselling
- support in in managing everyday duties
- developing coping skills and help with finding employment
- guidance on how to help children in their schoolwork and how to fill their free time

Where to start
You don’t need a referral in order to receive the service and it is possible to go to the shelter without it but if possible, contact the shelter by phone beforehand in order to specify the availability of free spots and to agree on the time of arrival.

Result
The mother and the service provider sign an agreement for receiving the service. The mother can receive the service until they are directed to another service that provides housing or until they can manage on their own again. The service is provided 24 hours a day.
