Rent subsidy
The rent allowance is paid once to those who have received international protection accordance to the Act on Granting International Protection to Aliens § 73 (3).
Please note that from September 11, 2024, the procedure for granting a one-time rent compensation to recipients of temporary or additional international protection in Estonia will change.
Starting from September 11, 2024, rent expenses will only be reimbursed if:

The refugee has received an Estonian residence permit for the first time (under the Aliens Act regarding international protection), and
-
The application is submitted within the first six months after receiving the initial residence permit.

Where to start
Enter the Tallinn e-service https://taotlen.tallinn.ee/yyripind and submit an application.
The precondition for submitting an application via the e-service is that the applicant and the users of the dwelling are beneficiaries of international protection and the necessary documents must be attached through the e-service:
- dwelling lease agreement,
- residence permit certificate and
- details of the leased space (if the payments were made in cash, please use this form or draw up the document based on this form)
Personal identification
Identification is done with an ID card, mobile ID, Smart-ID or EU eID.lease agreement
Result
The support is paid as a lump sum
When the result is unsatisfactory
A person who considers that his or her rights have been violated or his or her freedoms have been restricted by a decision or in the course of administrative proceedings may file a challenge through the district government with the Tallinn City Government or an appeal to an administrative court.
