Tallinn @ UrbanBrilliance
Meet Tallinn, the city, where the Future is now @ UrbanBrilliance (May 30th – June 2th) in Helsingborg Sweden
Tallinn – Green and Global, a City Where the Future is Now!
Tallinn, a city that never stops innovating, is a meeting place of creativity and innovation, dreaming big and making the dreams come true. Tallinn is not only open to new ideas but, moreover, encourages everyone to think big and is constantly looking for solutions to make the urban environment smarter, sustainable, and more comfortable. All this has taken the ‘innovative concentration’ in Tallinn to another level in comparison with most other cities. It is here that you can find self-driving cars and delivery robots, solar-panelled pavements, smart crossings or other futuristic products and services. Even though Tallinn is not among the 50 biggest cities in Europe, it is one of the biggest start-up hubs and unicorn cities in Europe. Just as the ‘Tiger Leap’ project put Estonia on the world map in the technology sector, the Green Tiger is now making its first vigorous jumps. Striving for sustainable development, Tallinn as the next European Green Capital is concentrating on opportunities to promote green technologies and green thinking, investing in and facilitating the development of technologies that will contribute to a more sustainable and CO2-neutral city environment.

Datel’s e-service Sille uses satellite data to detect displacement in bridges, pipelines, houses, and other infrastructure. The user of the service can get a fast, reliable and accurate measurement without the need to hire surveyors to do geodetics analysis, which can take a long time to finish. Sille uses information gathered by radars to detect shifts and subsidence of objects with the precision of up to one millimetre. The service helps prevent accidents caused by deterioration of infrastructure and contributes to general safety.
