Grant for balconies and awnings

The goal of the audit grant is to improve safety and energy efficiency in apartment buildings.

 The grant can be applied for in three different categories:

  • balcony and awnings audit to inspect the technical condition of balconies and awnings.
  • energy audit to find out how energy is consumed in an apartment building
  • roof and balcony load-bearing capacity assessment audit to determine the possibilities for installing sustainable energy production, conversion and storage devices.

 Support rates

The upper limit for the grant is 70% of an apartment building’s audit costs, but:

  • a maximum support limit of 1000 euros applies for the balcony and awnings audit
  • a maximum support limit of 3000 euros applies for the energy audit
  • a maximum support limit of 3000 euros applies for the roof and balcony load-bearing capacity audit

 Support conditions

  • The apartment building must have been constructed or put into use before the year 2000 and must contain two or more apartments.
  • The audit has been carried out after 1 January 2018.
  • The balcony and awnings audit report must include an assessment of the structural condition of all balconies and awnings in the building and provide suggestions regarding their maintenance and/or renovation.
  • The energy audit report must include an assessment of the apartment building’s condition, the price and amount of heating consumed, an analysis of energy consumption and conclusions on the economic viability of the installation of energy production, conversion and storage equipment.
  • The roof and balcony load-bearing capacity audit must include an assessment of the loading capacity of constructions and the possibility of installing renewable energy production equipment on them.

 Applications are accepted year-round.

 In 2024, the budget for this grant is 25,000 euros
