As of this month, a new express bus line No. 64 is on route, riding from Väike-Õismäe to the Ülemiste City business campus through Mustamäe district.
The bus line runs from Õismäe tee through Ehitajate tee to Tammsaare tee and from there on Järvevana tee to Suur-Sõjamäe, Ääsi, Valukoja and Lõõtsa streets.
"With the new express bus line, people who work there or run their daily errands in Ülemiste will get there from Väike-Õismäe and Mustamäe more comfortably," said Andrei Novikov, Deputy Mayor of Tallinn. “The creation of a public transport line will help to reduce the increasing traffic load on the way to Ülemiste City as the campus is developing. We are waiting for everyone whose road leads to Ülemiste to use the new bus line.”
“The construction of roads and light traffic paths and the development of public transport are crucial for the progress of Ülemiste City and the entire Ülemiste region. Creating comprehensive ways to reach it makes it possible to implement regional development projects without increasing car use,” added Ursel Velve, Chairman of the Management Board of Mainor Ülemiste. "We want to halve the number of cars in Ülemiste City over the next five years, and the opening of a new bus line will help create a more people-centred and greener environment."
The express bus line is open during peak hours, from 6 am to 11 am and from 3 pm to 8 pm. The departure interval is 16-18 minutes. The line will be served by five standard low-entry buses.
