Applications for the extended salary grant can be submitted from 1 April 2021 to 3 May 2021 only via e-services

Extended salary grant is paid to enterprises, whose main field of activity has been notably affected by the restrictions. The recipients of the grant are determined with the code of the main field of activity of enterprises.

Extended salary grant can be applied for by an enterprise:

  • whose turnover or revenues have dropped at least 50% in March 2021 compared to the period from December 2019 to February 2020. The average monthly turnover or average revenue of the enterprise is calculated for this period;
  • who is not subject to a compulsory dissolution, liquidation or bankruptcy proceedings and who at the moment of application has no tax debts or the debts have been deferred.

The grant is paid for the employees:

  • who cannot be provided the agreed amount of work or whose salary has been reduced;
  • who at the time of submitting the application have an existing employment relationship and whose date of commencing the work at the employer, applying for the extended salary grant, is no later than 1 October 2020.

The Unemployment Insurance Fund reimburses 60% of the previous salary of the contractual employee, however not more than 1000 euros per month (gross). The social tax calculated on the amount of grant and the employer’s unemployment insurance premium will be added to this.

The employer itself must pay the employee a gross salary of at least 200 euros. The amount of grant will be transferred to the employer’s bank account and is intended for the salary payments of the employees.

The total sum of the extended salary grant payable by the Unemployment Insurance Fund and the salary paid by the employer may not exceed the employee’s salary for March 2021.

Based on the data obtained from the Tax and Customs Board, the Unemployment Insurance Fund shall verify whether the employer has also paid out the grant requested to the employee and its own contribution to the employee.

The enterprise is not allowed to lay off employees who have received the grant until 31 May 2021.

The grant can be applied for also by self-employed persons whose business income in 2020 was 50% less than in 2019. The amount of grant for self-employer persons is 584 euros.

This is a one-month support measure.
