Filtri tee in the Kesklinn district will be closed to normal traffic on Sunday and Monday, 8 and 9 May from 9am to 11pm on the section from the Tallinn Central Bus Station to Veskiposti street. Restrictions do not apply to public transport and local residents.
Police officers from the Police and Border Guard Board will monitor the restrictions onsite.
The traffic restrictions on Filtri tee are enforced due to the fact that in previous years people visiting the Defence Forces Cemetery on Filtri tee have parked in an inappropriate place and crossed the multi-lane carriageway in the wrong place, thus creating dangerous traffic situations.
It is possible to reach the cemetery by public transport to commemorate loved ones. Buses 16 and 17A stop at the Veskiposti stop on Filtri tee.
The Police and Border Guard Board has banned public meetings that may incite hatred, and the use of symbols that provoke other people is not allowed. It is still allowed to commemorate relatives by laying flowers and candles.
