Luise Street in Tallinn centre closed for construction until Sunday

From 7 am on Friday, September 24, one lane on Luise Street is closed due to the construction of the heating and water pipelines. Luise Street is completely closed on Friday evening from 7 pm to 11 pm on Sunday, September 26. One lane on Luise Street will be partially closed until the evening of Wednesday, September 29.

"The closing of Luise Street is necessary in connection with the construction of the heating and water pipelines of the street. Residents of Luise Street can access their home by car and the sidewalk for pedestrians will remain open,” explained Monika Haukanõmm, Head of City Centre Government. "Please follow the suggestions of temporary traffic signs and take into account that the journey may take longer. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience of the work.”

On September 24, at 7 am, the road is partially closed on the section between Luise 25 and Luise 32, so that one lane and one sidewalk will remain open. From Friday, September 24, from 7 pm to Sunday, September 26, at 11 pm, the same section will be closed in full.

Over the weekend, while Luise Street is completely closed, alternative routes are possible either through Toompuiestee and Tehnika Street, or via Endla Street using the bus lane. You can get to Haabersti from the city centre by turning right from Kaarli puiestee to Toompuieste and left to Tehnika Street and onwards to Paldiski Road. To get to Kristiine and Mustamäe from the city centre, you can turn from Kaarli puiestee to the Endla Street bus lane, which is temporarily open to other vehicles.
